Privacy Policy

How I handle the personal data of people who visit eljoseoweb.com, use its forms and tools or hire my services: what I collect, why, who it is shared with and how to exercise your rights.

Effective date: October 21, 2026

This policy explains how personal data is handled on eljoseoweb.com (Spanish and English versions), a website with educational SEO content, free tools, SEO consulting services, private lessons and web design. It is written in plain language and applies to everything done on the site.

Who is responsible

The data controller is Jose Miguel (El Joseo), an individual working independently, not a company. You can write to me at jose@eljoseoweb.com about anything related to this policy.

What data I collect

Data you give me:

  • Contact, quote and consultation forms: name, email address, website (if you provide it) and the message you write.
  • Free SEO audit: the web address you enter to be analyzed and, if you ask for it, your contact details.
  • Free SEO guide: your email and, optionally, your name, so I can send you the PDF.
  • Bookings and lessons: the details the booking system asks for (for example, name, email and time slot) and the topics you want to cover.
  • WhatsApp or email: if you write to me through these channels, I receive your number or address and the content of the conversation.
  • Payments: if you pay for a lesson or a service, the payment is processed by a third party (for example, PayPal). I do not store card details.

Data collected automatically while you browse: approximate IP address, browser and device type, language, pages visited, visit duration, how you reached the site (for example, through UTM parameters) and interactions such as clicks and scrolling.

What I use it for

  • Replying to your messages and providing the service you ask for (consulting, lessons, audit, web design).
  • Sending you the guide or materials you request.
  • Understanding how the site is used and improving it: analytics, performance and campaign measurement.
  • Complying with legal obligations and protecting the site from spam or abuse.

I do not sell your data nor give it to third parties so they can send you advertising. I don’t send you recurring marketing emails unless you asked to receive them.

Third-party tools involved

To run the site and measure it I use third-party services, which process data under their own policies:

  • Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, Google Ads and Search Console): analytics, measurement and advertising. Google Privacy Policy.
  • Microsoft Clarity: heatmaps and anonymized session recordings to see how the site is used. By default it masks sensitive information in form fields. Microsoft Privacy Statement.
  • Cloudflare: hosting and delivery network for the site, and security features. Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
  • Web3Forms: receives and forwards by email the messages sent through the forms. Web3Forms Privacy Policy.
  • Calendly: booking of lessons and sessions. Calendly Privacy Notice.
  • PayPal: payment processing. PayPal Privacy Statement.
  • YouTube: embedded videos use enhanced privacy mode, but when you play them YouTube may collect data under its policy.

Cookies

The site and these tools may use cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, measure traffic and evaluate campaigns. You can block or delete them in your browser settings; some features may stop working. You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Where data is processed and how long it is kept

Some of these providers process data on servers located outside Colombia, for example in the United States. I keep your data only as long as needed for the purpose you gave it for (for example, handling an inquiry or a service) or to comply with legal obligations, and then I delete or anonymize it. I apply reasonable security measures, such as HTTPS encryption, but no system on the internet is completely foolproof.

Your rights

You can know, update and correct your data, request its deletion, withdraw the consent you gave me and ask for information about how I use it. If you contact me from Colombia, these rights are governed by Law 1581 of 2012 and related regulations, and you can file a complaint with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also request access, portability and objection to processing.

To exercise any of these rights, write to me at jose@eljoseoweb.com stating your request; I will reply within a reasonable time.

Minors

The site is not aimed at minors and I do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a minor has sent me data, write to me and I will delete it.

The site contains links to third-party pages (sources, tools, social networks). I don’t control their privacy policies or content; I recommend reading them.

SEO World and the SEO extension

SEO World is a private SEO tool, for personal use, that runs locally on the computer of the person using it. It uses Google data (Search Console, Analytics and Google Ads) only from your own accounts and with your permission, through Google sign-in. That data is stored only on your device, is not sold or shared with third parties and no data about other people is collected. It is used only to show you the analyses inside the tool.

The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can withdraw access at any time at myaccount.google.com → Security → Third-party connections → SEO World → Remove access. Once revoked, the tool can no longer read your data.

The Chrome SEO extension has its own policy: extension privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, I will update the effective date shown at the top.
